A buying signal is a public sign that a company is about to spend money. A funding round, a new office, a change of system. Beacon reads those public posts for you, has an AI on your own computer check each one, and sends the ones that fit to your phone and into Atlas as a lead. Its message is simple: your next client just posted.
What a buying signal actually is
Think about what a company does right before it needs a supplier. It announces a funding round. It opens a new office. It tells everyone it is moving to a new system. Each of those is a moment when budget exists and a decision is being made. The companies that win the work are usually the ones who got in touch while the news was still fresh.
These announcements are public on purpose. A company posts about a funding round because it wants to be seen. Nobody has to leak anything. The problem is not access, it is time. Reading posts all day to spot the five that matter is a job nobody keeps doing for long.
The three steps Beacon takes
- It reads. Beacon opens public posts on LinkedIn, using your own session, on a schedule. It scores what it finds and removes duplicates, so you do not see the same company three times.
- It checks. A local AI reads each post and confirms it is a genuine signal, then pulls out the useful detail: who the company is and what it announced. Posts that do not hold up are dropped.
- It tells you. The good ones arrive as an alert on Telegram, with the reason they matched attached. Leads that qualify are also sent to Atlas, my CRM, so they start life as a record and not as a screenshot.
A human still does the outreach. Beacon never writes to anyone. I built it that way on purpose: a message that sounds like it was sent by a machine tends to be ignored, and a person who knows the context writes a better one.
Funding is only one signal
Beacon is not tied to one kind of news. The app ships with several signal packages, and the same machine can be pointed at funding, expansion, product launches or partnerships. You pick what matters to the way you sell. A web developer might care about a company opening a new office. An accountant might care about a funding round. Someone selling software might care about a system change.
What read-only means for risk
The fear I hear most is about the LinkedIn account. It is a fair fear, so here is exactly what Beacon does. It is strictly read-only. It does not connect with anyone, follow anyone, comment, like or message. It looks at public posts the way you would, and nothing more.
I cannot promise how any platform will treat any tool, and I will not pretend otherwise. What I can say is that the design keeps the footprint as small as I know how to make it. The tool that gets accounts banned is the one that acts. This one only watches.
What runs on your computer means for privacy
Beacon runs on your own computer, on Mac or Windows. The AI that checks each post runs locally, so the text of those posts is not sent to a service I run. Your settings, your history and your Telegram connection stay on your machine. It does not send your data to a Marketive server.
Some features do reach out when you switch them on, such as Telegram alerts or a company lookup. They are opt-in, and I list them in the app’s privacy text so you can see them before you decide.
Where Beacon stands today
Beacon is in beta, for Mac and Windows. That means it works and I use it myself, but it is not finished, and I would rather say so than oversell it. Atlas, the CRM it feeds, is live and in testers’ hands.
“The best lead is not the one you chase. It is the one who just told the world they are about to spend, and you were the first to notice.”
Is it for you?
- You sell to businesses, and timing matters to whether they buy
- You already know the kind of news that means a company needs you
- You are happy for a human to do the follow-up
- You want leads in a CRM, not in a pile of bookmarks
