Speed to lead calculator

Enter your numbers and see the deals a slow reply puts at risk. You set the key assumption yourself, so the result is yours, not a made-up statistic. Runs in your browser.

This is your own estimate. Look at leads that never answered a late reply, or ask your sales team.

How the number is worked out

Leads that go cold because nobody answered in time are leads you paid to attract and then lost. The calculator takes your monthly leads, applies the share you think go cold, and multiplies by your close rate and average deal value:

revenue at risk = leads × share gone cold × close rate × deal value

You choose the share yourself. There is no hidden study behind it, so the answer reflects your own business.

What counts as a slow reply

It depends on your market. For many service businesses an enquiry that waits until the next working day is slow. For high-intent leads such as demo requests, minutes matter. Look at your own data: compare the close rate of leads answered fast with leads answered late.

What to do with the result

  • Put a price on it. Compare the yearly figure with what it would cost to fix reply times.
  • Fix the first step. A shared inbox, an alert on new leads and an owner for every lead usually closes most of the gap.
  • Track it. Measure time to first reply every month and watch it fall.

Questions

What is speed to lead?

Speed to lead is how quickly a business first responds after someone asks for contact, for example by filling in a form. The faster the first reply, the less chance the buyer has moved on.

How do I know my share of leads that go cold?

Look at enquiries that got a late reply and never answered back, divided by all enquiries. If you do not track it yet, start with a rough estimate and tighten it after a month of data.

Does this tool send my numbers anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded or stored.

Found something worth fixing?
